(Me and past exchange student Kana)
I remember days dreaming of what life would be like in Japan. What kind of Japanese conversation I would have with people as I passed them on the streets. What kind of foods would I love and what kind of people would I meet. I never would have imagined it like this! I never would have known that God was preparing me for this.
I think God is powerful. Actually, I know God is powerful. My God was so small in my mind before. But now there is literally nothing to fear!
To think about how much has change in such a short time, I am truly amazed.
Two Fridays ago I met a young collage girl in her second year and she had recently become a
Christian. Me and another staff member saw her reading her bible in the chapel of one of the schools we do outreaches in. We stopped and talked to her and she shared a bit about how she came to The Lord. She told us that she had heard of Jesus as a child, but didn’t really understand. Then once she got older she wanted to start searching for love. She came to this Christian school (Rikkyo Uni.) to learn about the bible because she became curious about the love of God. God encountered her and she began following him as of last year. The Lord revealed how much he loves her and cares for her. I want all the Japanese to know this. To be like this girl and have a hunger for his love. I also hope to have a deeper conversation with this girl and hear more of what the Lord is telling her. Its very exciting to me!
One of the most wonderful things about Japan is their people. Of cores, there wouldn’t be Japan without its people. Hard working, kind hearted and caring people. They truly want something to believe in. They want heart to heart relationships. And God wants them. I want them to want God. How amazing is his love! How wide how deep how far is his love! I pray he can have all their hearts! I want to see more and more change in this country! Its changing. The seeds that have been planted by the people who came before us are not dead yet. Many people God called before us came to this land. Far far in Japanese history God was sending his people here to tell the Japanese about him! He's there! God is in Japan! (all over the world too. Don’t think I'm saying He's only here. haha) He is moving! He is sending his workers over to plant, and now he will begin sending his people over to harvest! I cant wait to see what he will do! Let every ear hear! Let every heart rejoice! For the Lord is good!
Forgive me for my bad spelling and writing. Its not really my gift. (haha)

A few favourite verses I have read recently:
"The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel. That displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God." 2 Corinthians 4:4
"It is written: "I believe; therefore I have spoken." Since we have that same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore speak, because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you to himself." 2 Corinthians 4:13-14
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jews, then to the Gentile. For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed - a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith."" Romans 1:16-17
"God will do this, for he is faithful to do what he says, and he has invited you into partnership with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord." 1 Corinthians 1:9
"May he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him. All the glory to him forever and ever! Amen." Hebrews 13:21
