May 3erd 2018 to June 7th 2018 UPDATE!

(photo: fellow students of my LMD)
Hello Friends and Family!
Thank you all for your prayers, thoughts and support!
I have been here in London now for almost 2 months!

Because I have not updated in a while, there is a lot that has happened, so I will try to make this short.

The W.I.S.E. conference.
From May 4th through May 7th, as a base we traveled down to Harpenden, England, for a big conference with YWAM Wales, Ireland, Scotland and England (hints, the wise).
It was a time to fellowship, connect, pray for one another, and learn what is happening in the United Kingdom.
For me it was a wonderful experience. I truly felt like it was a taste of heaven. The wether was beautiful and the base that was hosting was very large and had a lovely green yard in the middle of everything.

I was amazed to walk through the grass with no shoes on, passing by conversation after conversation that carried the name of Jesus. That was filled with kingdom like nature. All these people from so many nations gathered together for worship and community. Radically changed and radically changing people. I am thankful for YWAM and for this time where I could get a bigger picture of YWAM UK.
God is good. God is big.

LMD and DTS Mini Outreach!

(click on photos to make them bigger)
From May 26th - May 28th, my Leadership school lead a short outreach to a close by area. We had two students from my school as the main 2 leaders, then the other 7 of us had tasks and things of our own we were in charge of leading. I was in charge of our 2 hour Evangelism time.
We stayed in a local church that we partnered with and lived in the building.
We also were leading the 3 DTS students.

Pictures and explanations bellow.

For the evangelism time that I was in charge of, I broke everyone into 3 teams. One for worship in the park, one doing prophetic art, the other walking the streets and talking with people.
During our worship time I remembered the verse "our battle isn't against flesh and blood, but of the powers and principalities of darkness." So, I reminded myself and shared with the group that even though we are not talking with people in this short time, we are changing things by praising God over this city.
Also during this time, I realised that all our life should be evangelism!
The art group. Praying and asking God what to draw and drawing it. (hopefully being able to give it to a person that they see).
The group that walked around as well got to share with people and invite them to the church we were staying at.
We found a turtle! (people were freaking out).

Prayer over the city and the church after our prayer walk through the area. Very sweet time of prayer and worship. Lots of peace.

During our first day, we joined the churches english teaching and conversation classes. There were so many people from all over the world that gathered there to learn and practice their English.
I got to read a paper for a group so they could hear how an American sounds.
(in this picture, two of our teammates share the difference between England and America).

Joined the church for their service. Two of our teammates joined the worship team, and two others shared some testimonies and verses. We also joined their prayer time before the service.

Ministries/Outreaches and Daily Tasks
During our week, we have 2 days where we have ministry at the local Salvation Army. On Tuesdays we go there to help with their "drop in". Mostly of homeless people; we give out food and conversations as well as prayer if they desire it.
Then on Wednesdays we go back to Salvation Army in the afternoon and give out hair cuts, nail painting, makeup, conversations and tea, coffee and snacks. Sometimes there are too many people, so some of us will go for street evangelism.

A small street evangelism thing we did was bring out a mirror to the streets (in the picture), and have people write what they see when they look in the mirror. It was to open up a chance for conversation about how God loves them and thinks they are beautiful.
Also, we have had a street evangelism time on a Thursday where we did free face-painting for kids. It was a good time and there were lots of kids that showed up and we got to talk with their parents. It was easy to conversate because they all asked why we were giving out face-painting for free.

Changing into base life and daily activities topic:
Urban Key gets a lot of food donations from a (well known) grocery store every week. Its usually a very large amount of crates full of mostly fruits and vegetables, but this past week there were so many donations that the many fridges and freezers and space in the base was full and overflowed into the back yard. So, the staff set up a table in the front of the base and gave out free food to passing by people. I also got to help set up a table and food during the weekend.

During our week, we usually don't have lots and lots of teachings like a Discipleship Training School does, but we do have at least 2 a week. Its been really amazing to hear from lots of different kinds of people about different topics. I have been learning a lot more about the Fear of God, Obedience and Healing in my heart.
We also get bible teachings once a week where we study different leaders in the bible. Good and bad. So far, that has been one of my favourite parts of the week.
Also, we have been learning different things about media, arts and mercy ministries. we have had people share about how to plan events and work with details, we have even learned about how cameras work. It's been a lot of fun so far with many different topics.

During this Leadership and Ministry development school, there will be a lot of projects we will be working on as a team. Media, Mercy, Kids and arts projects. It almost feels like a lot when including leading our own outreach (planning it too) and book readings, reports, journals and once a month planning the base's event called "open mic" where we eat together and have a chance to perform different things and also invite people that we know to come watch but also perform if they wish. We have finished one already, along with one love feast (a time of eating and fellowshipping and letting each other know we are loved). There will be 3 open mic's and 2 love feasts. Sounds like a lot for not so much time, but I think it will all work out and it has been challenging and fun so far!
