Back In Japan UPDATE 9/15/2017

I am back in Japan!
I have been back in Tokyo now for almost 2 week. It feels like a lot longer.
I didn't have as much jet lag this time around. My body must be getting used to travel (haha).

Thank You So Much!
Thank you to all those who spoke with me while I was in Florida. It was very good to see so many people after a long time.
THANK YOU to all those who have support me financially. Thank you to my Church, The Gathering Church in Fort Walton Beach. You are all a huge blessing to me. I could not be here without you. Thank you to my parents and grandparents as well for truly sending me off and blessing me so much financially and in prayer and support. You are all so precious to my heart.

MY TIME IN FLORIDA
It was a real blessing to me to be able to visit my family during this season. Thank you to my grandparents for paying for my plane ticket! I am very very thankful for their amazing blessing to get me to my family.
My younger sister is done with her chemo treatments! I am truly celebrating! She was released by the doctors and told she will not have to take radiation. I am really praising God that her cancer is gone and she can truly move forward in her life. I love her so much! I miss my family now, but so happy for the time I had with them.

WEDDING
For about 5 days I went to New Mexico to be the maid of honor in my best friend's wedding. She has been my fellow staff and roommate and best friend since 2013 when we did our DTS together. She married another fellow staff member and good friend of mine. I am so happy for the two of them and can't wait to see where God takes them! It was a fun and beautiful wedding!

2017 YWAM, Tokyo DTS GRADUATION
After returning on September 3erd to Tokyo, I went to YWAM Tokyo's 2017 Japanese and English DTS graduation for our students.
For the time I was away in the states, the students spent a month having their Japan outreach. They went in teams to Hokkaido and Tohoku Japan, and ministered in Tokyo as well. They were able to do allot of different type of works and volunteer jobs. I heard many cool stories from them. Sad I could not be apart, but very proud of them all.
The Graduation ceremony was very fun and full of laughter and tears. A bitter sweet celebration.

The morning after graduation, the DTS staff and students spent a good long day cleaning the base and packing up. They are such hard workers and I was thankful that they left the base clean and smelling nice.

LADIES LUNCH VISIT
I have written in some past updates about being invited for lunch and english talk with a couple of older ladies from my church. (This door opened very easily for us to just get to know some Japanese people and share the gospel and also to bless them (and be blessed!)).
So, myself and a couple of the staff decided to make a lunch at our base for these ladies and any friends they would like to invite. They were so excited to say yes!
So we invited them a couple of months ago to come and see where we live and have lunch with us. They invited their co-workers and all five lovely older ladies came and visited us. We each made a dish "from our country". I didn't really know a super special "American dish" (as I was the only American cooking) so I made a Macaroni and Cheese dish. But it was so cool to also get to see and eat other dishes from Mexico, Taiwan and El Salvador! Our Japanese friends loved it!
Only one of these ladies was a christian, and all her friends know of her faith. So, it actually opened a huge door to share with them about God. My friends were giving their testimonies of how God has healed them, and how they came to know Jesus. It was really very amazing. I also got to play some Japanese worship songs for the ladies as well. They were very thankful! We had allot of fun and spent almost 5 hours together. They left with a smiles and we took some pictures together.

FRIDAY NIGHT OUTREACH
(*Picture hard to see. Its of 3 staff praying for a Japanese man)
I am continuing on my Friday night worship in the park every week. For the last Friday night we were in a newer park in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. It was a good time of giving out art pictures to people and playing worship music and praying. A guy came over to us and asked about the meaning of the song we were playing. He felt it really touched him. So, he asked allot of questions and some of our staff shared the gospel with him and about how much Jesus loves him. Then they were able to pray for him. He didn't receive Jesus yet, but said he would like to come back next week.
For me, these times are really a stepping out challenge every week. It is the call of my heart to be there and to share the gospel, but it can be very hard and scary most always. Being a foreigner already makes me stand out and I am big and tall, so its a double stand out. So to sit in a public park and begin to sing...thats a very big thing for me. I am amazed over and over how much God has grown me and stretched me. I am amazed that he can still work through me somehow. I am humbled to be here every week.
Also, during Friday nights we have a couple other teams out on the streets walking around and sharing about Jesus. Please keep them in your prayers as well!

LAST THINGS
(*Picture from last dinner with DTS staff from 2017. We finished!).
There is allot of other things that are being done and happening as well, but I just shared about a couple things that are cool and different.
Thank you all again for praying and supporting me!
This coming season I hope to start pouring into more local outreaches and ministries as well as study more Japanese (I need it).
