Short Update Of Overseas Outreach 2017 DTS

Hello family and friends!
I am done with leading an outreach team to East Asia area!
THANK YOU
For your prayers and support! I am very thankful to those who gave financially and in prayer.

As I had mentioned before, I left on June 26th to co-lead an DTS outreach team into an area of East Asia. Because of the restrictions in this country, I am not allowed to say where we went.
I lead with 2 other staff members, and we lead 6 DTS students of this years bilingual school.

SOME THINGS WE DID

During this time we were given many different opportunities in the area to help and contribute our time. One thing was helping clean up a small YMCA that works allot with disabled people.

Also at the same place we were able to spend a couple days a week spending time with these people. We played games, drew pictures, played with blocks and danced with them. It was allot of fun.

One other smaller thing we got to do was share the love of Jesus on the streets with different people. Praying for some people (openly in english, or under our breath) and making friends to open bigger doors to share.

Another opportunity we got was spending time with parents and their kids on a couple of Saturday mornings. We sang songs with them, did skits, colored pictures and played games. We had chances to talk and make friends with the parents as well.

   SOME (extra) FUN
Other fun things we were able to do on the side was try different types of foods and cultural experiences. Duck is my new favorite meat (haha)! There were allot of spicy foods, but also allot that weren't so spicy. The dumplings in this area were also a very amazing taste.

We also got to play at a local arcade with some of our new friends. We had a dance competition on the big DDR machine, and then got to play some of the other games as well. It was a very fun night that celebrated our trip as a whole!

WHATS HAPPENING NOW?

Right now I am in Florida!
Its a crazy shift from leading an outreach to spending time at the beach with much less responsibilities.
I always love getting to have fun with my sisters and little brother!
Of course I do have a reason for being in Florida beyond just having fun. It really is to spend time with family in a hard season of life for my sister and family. Filling my time with prayer and keeping my eyes on the Lord as I love and enjoy my family.
I will also be in my best friends wedding in New Mexico as the maid of honor on September 1st. Then on September 2nd I will fly back to Japan.
