UPDATE From April (Cool Stuff Going On)

(Photo from family night with the DTS. Bowling.)

Hello Family and Friends!
I hope you are all doing well. I am again very thankful for all of you who pray for me and support me. You are all amazing!

DTS UPDATE

We have three more weeks left of DTS before outreach starts! It has so far been very amazing and again a brand new experience apart from any of the DTS's before it. Each student is very different and in a very different place with their walk with God, and I can see how they each build each other up to draw closer to God. This DTS is marked with allot of hunger and desire. I am still enjoying each day of the long yet short days that behold me each week.
Since my last update we have had these weeks of teaching: Holy Spirit, Love, Prayer and Intercession/worship, Spiritual Warfare and now Church and family and Relationships.

East Asia (area) Team
This year I am co-leading a team with 2 other staff and 6 students overseas into East Asia. Because of the areas restriction on Christianity, I cannot say where we are going. We are praying hard for this trip and for the finances we still need to go. Keep us in your prayers!!
We all have a deep heart for children and will be hopefully spending most of our time at orphanages or schools.

  Please Pray For Us! (Finances)
Our team and the other outreach team, that will be going to Indonesia, is still in need of finances before the 26th of June.
I myself am in need for about $540.
We as a whole DTS still need about $21,200.

Please keep us in your prayers!

     Fire Conference
In Tokyo last month there was a conference held over a 3 day weekend. It was hosted by a christian organization called CfaN (Christ For All Nations). The guest speakers who were leading most of the conference time was Daniel Kolenda and Todd White. Both are well known evangelists.
I went for all 3 days for all 6 of the sessions. It was very impactful and very cool to see how God is so much highlighting Japan. Both shared lots of cool stories and really called the church into a higher place. Many people received Jesus for the first time and many people also got healed from pains in their body. There was also many baptisms of the holy spirit throughout the weekend and then on the last day a fire prayer tunnel where everyone had a chance to get blessed and filled with the Holy Spirit if they wanted. I too went through the tunnel for fun! I was also super happy to get to see Todd White in person. For a long time now he has impacted my life just by me watching videos of him teaching or sharing stories. So being able to see him in Japan was amazing.

  Lunch and English Talk
At the church I started going to this year, there is a lady named Suzuki, who runs a study house called Kumon (Its something that is all over Japan). She invited myself and 2 other ywam staff to join her for a second time and spend close time speaking with kids in English. We had lunch with Suzuki-san and her friend Morisawa-san (who is not a christian) and two girls (far right of picture). Then the other children came later to have fun and speak with real live foreigners!
I personally had allot of fun. For the whole time I just talked to the two girls who were with us all through lunch as well. Miyu and Rinne who are 12 and 11 years old. They didn't really speak any english besides "whats your name" and "how old are you". So, I just listened to them tell jokes, ask questions and teach me their made up games with the name cards on the table that Rinne made up on the spot. It was more of a Japanese language experience for me than an English experience for them. I had allot of fun! We also hope to really get to share Jesus with these kids more. Its a great opportunity that God has opened up for us.
We have been asked to join them again in July.

Sharing My Testimony
This past Sunday I shared my testimony to my Japanese church. The Pastor had asked me to be ready a couple of weeks ago, so with the help of my Japanese teacher, I wrote out my testimony in Japanese and shared it. I was very thankful for this experience and surprisingly a bit excited for the challenge. I was still very nerves and couldn't look away from the page in my hand for fear of loosing my place on it, but I think they understood. I want to grow more in Japanese!

THANK YOU!
