Forgivness

I was on a crowded train here in tokyo headed home for the night, when I noticed the Japanese girl in front of me going through flash cards. English flash cards. You know, like the little flip ones with the English word on the front and Japanese on back. Well, below each word was a sentence with the word used in it. There were some really weird ones. Like, sentences you probably will never hear. Anyway, she came to the word "Apologize". And what surprised me was the sentence given. It was; "I apologized to him, but I don't forgive him." I was like, wow. Way to use that in a sentence. She turned the flip book and the next word was "Forgive". And the sentence below made me want to tap her on the shoulder and give her a much better use of such a word. The sentence below forgiveness was; "I will forgive you if you get on your hands and knees and beg." Wow. I have heard many people in this group pray that the Japanese will come to know true forgiveness. So I officially want to pray for that too. I was taken aback and sad as I read the sentience, that she would re read in Japanese on the other side of that flip note.
